God's Purpose for Our Lives

How do I know if I am in God’s will or not?

This message may help you understand if you are walking according to God’s plan for your life.

When you are brought into the Kingdom of God (when you are saved), you have an assignment.  Our assignment on this earth is to reflect the image of Jesus Christ everywhere we go and bring Him glory.  I Corinthians 10:31

Even Jesus purpose was to bring glory and honor to the Father John 17:4

Seems tough?  Well, we must understand that we are merely a vessel; Jesus does the work through us.  As long as we submit our lives to Him and are walking in His purpose or zone, then we are His responsibility.

The more you obey Him the less you will know, you only will know the next step.  This is totally different from the way the world has taught us.

Our future may even become cloudy because all we need to do is take the next step, truly relying on God for everything else.  “Walk by faith, not by sight”.

Our ultimate purpose on this earth is to expand the Kingdom of God, by allowing God to use us for His glory.

God didn’t give birth to us into His kingdom just to have a career.

God is very specific when He gives us some commands about our purpose:

  • “until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to preaching and to teaching.”  I Timothy 4:13
  • “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”  Mark 16:15

Each of us should use whatever gifts and resources He has made available to us to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  (I Peter 4:10) Some of you may sing or play an instrument, some may be athletes, artists, doctors, etc… these gifts will become your personal ministry.

No matter whom we are or what we do, we all have one very important common resource, and it’s called the Bible.

The word of God is a valuable resource because it filters our thinking, it sifts out the junk society has tried to fill our minds with.  We must continue to think pure, clean Godly thoughts.  Remember, we become what we think.  How many of you have heard at one time or another that you are what you eat?  It is the same of you are what you think.

If you want clear guidance from God, you’ve got to clear out your mind of junk.

Many versus in the Bible talk specifically about His promise for clear direction in our lives.  You’ve read them like this:

“I will direct, I will guide”

 3 Points to Remember

  1. Know God has an assignment for us and nothing can stop it.
    • (At the end of Paul’s ministry II Timothy 4:6-8)
    • He knew God had an assignment given by God himself and the devil could do nothing to alter the plan.  Not one thing could happen that will deter God’s ultimate destination for us.  All hell could break loose and it would not keep us from fulfilling God’s plan.
    • Remember, as long as we are walking in the will of God, we are His responsibility.
    • Romans 8:28, II Cor 4:8
  1. Live Everyday Trusting in His dependability
  • Walk by faith – be concerned about today, Race = Assignment      Acts 20:24
  • Call those things that are not as though they are…..
  • We need provisions to carry out our assignments.  Give us our daily bread, it doesn’t say our weekly, or monthly breed.
  1. We can’t lose hope and we must endure.
  • Heb 10:35
  • We need focus  Acts 28

This all has everything to do with expanding the Kingdom.

We can’t live on yesterday’s blessings, we must pray every morning for God’s blessings!!!!!!

This is your true resource, HIS blessings!!!!!
